Levi's spårar sitt ursprung till 1852, när Levi Strauss, en immigrant från Bayern, öppnade en torrvaruaffär i San Francisco under guldrushen i Kalifornien. Genom sitt arbete insåg han behovet av hållbara kläder gjorda för hårt arbetande människor. I samarbete med skräddaren Jacob Davis kombinerade han kopparnitförstärkningar med tuff denim, vilket skapade den första tillverkade midjeoverallen 1873. Idag är det plagget känt över hela världen som blåjeans.
