LEVI'S

Levi’s traces its origins to 1852, when Levi Strauss, an immigrant from Bavaria, opened a dry goods business in San Francisco during the California Gold Rush. Through his work, he recognized the need for durable clothing made for hardworking people. In partnership with tailor Jacob Davis, he combined copper rivet reinforcements with tough denim, creating the first manufactured waist overalls in 1873. Today, that garment is known worldwide as blue jeans.
